Edward John Savage was born 1853 in Kennington, Surrey. He was the second child of John Savage and Merina Savage (nee Carter).
On 7th April 1861 the Census was held. Edward John Savage was living in Enfield, Middlesex, with his parents John Savage and Merina Savage (nee Carter), his sisters, Marina Maria Savage, Susannah Savage and Ellen Savage and his Great Grandfather Thomas Spicer.
On 2nd April 1871 the Census was held. Edward John Savage was living at 4 Fox Court, Finsbury, London, with his parents John Savage and Merina Savage (nee Carter), his sisters Marina Maria Savage and Angelina Savage and his Grandmother Elizabeth Carter. Edward was working as a Turner.
On 9th December 1877 Edward John Savage married Frances Paticence Besant at St Peters Church, Clerkenwell, Middlesex.
